It may well start well before the actu- al market launch, i.e. it removes possible barriers to rapid market penetration in advance, or it creates the conditions for rapid acceptance by payers. On the other hand, it can also ex- tend beyond the first two years after the product launch. Integral Road - Map Shows the integral overall concept of market access Pre - launch Road - Map Market access before product launch Post - launch Road - Map Market access after product launch Road map type Consequently, a distinction can be made between a pre - launch road map and a post - launch road map. Both begin or end with the market launch of the product and have their respecti- ve advantages and disadvantages. The better solution is the integral road map, which starts in sufficient time before the market launch and which usually ends in the second year after the market launch. A road map is a "living document", i.e. it is subject to time - related up - to - dateness and requi- res regular renewal. Regardless of the general period of validity of a road map, it should be regularly revised and adapted or updated to current developments. A monthly review or up- date is advisable. In addition, a quarterly review of the entire road map is recommended.
